20 years after Nas’ classic album Illmatic, he’s released a documentary that details the making of one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all-time – Nas; Time Is Illmatic.
From “The Genesis” to “It Ain’t Hard to Tell”, Nas helped revolutionize hip-hop with lyrics that have echoed throughout the culture for two decades. A 19 year old Nasir Jones captivated fans with his unique rhyming style and a talent for storytelling that was reminiscent of Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane. Illmatic wasn’t just a classic album, it introduced the world to of one of the best emcees to ever touch a mic.
The documentary should be incredible. Nas is one of the most interesting artist of his time and he’s never shied away from wearing his emotions on his sleeves.
