Ridley Scott is back in space, but this time there are no Xenomorphs involved. His latest film, The Martian, is based on a 2011 novel of the same name by Andy Weir. A NASA astronaut named Mar Watney is left behind during a mission to Mars. The group must decided if a trip going back to save Watney is worth risking their lives for.

Hopefully this is a prequel to Dr. Mann’s plight in Interstellar.

The cast looks amazing – Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover – and has a screen play penned by Drew Goddard (World War Z, Cabin in the Woods, Daredevil TV show).
