Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, and Domhnall Gleeson star in The Revenant, Alejandro Inarritu’s follow-up to his 2014 hit, Birdman.
Here’s the film’s synopsis:
An injured trapper (Leonardo DiCaprio) must survive through a hostile environment, a brutal winter and warring American Indians to finally take his revenge against the traitorous partner (Tom Hardy) who left him for dead.
The trailer has almost zero dialogue and is full of grunts, screams and gunshots. Yet, it looks really good. We know Inarritu doesn’t need a lot of dialogue to get his point(s) across, so I expect this story to be as fluid as any. Along with the three big hitters, the cast includes Will Poulter, Brendan Fletcher, and Lukas Haas. DiCpario and Hardy had good chemistry in 2010’s Inception. Let’s hope they can bring that energy to The Revenant.
This movie has Oscar bait written all over it. Maybe this will be the role that finally gets DiCaprio his well deserved Academy Award.
