When I saw Kevin Hart and Ice Cube’s buddy cop film, Ride Along, grossed $153 million worldwide, I knew we were destined for a sequel. How could Universal Pictures resist making another one?
Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Ben Barber graduated from the police academy and now a full fledged Atlanta P.D. cop. Right now he wants to make as a detective. James his soon to be brother in law and he is still annoyed by Ben’s tactics. Ben is about to get married to James sister Angela and right now their boss Lt Brooks (Bruce Mcgill) assigned on a huge case that is in Miami. They will be working with Miami P.D. on this case.
It looks like the same antics in the first film will dominate heavily featured in this sequel. This time, instead of becoming an officer, Ben is trying to be detective. James will still be annoyed with him and hate whenever he mentions marrying his sister. To be honest, it looks formulaic but fun.
Tim Story is back behind the camera directing the two leads along with Tika Sumpter, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Ken Jeong, Glen Powell, Sherri Sheppherd, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh.
