The first official trailer for Warner Bros Suicide Squad is finally here.

Written and directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Sabotage, Fury), Suicide Squad follows a group supervillains who are given a suicide mission to save the world. Exactly what they’re up against is still a mystery, but the damage left behind says it’s something big ans nasty.

We get a lot more of Jared Leto’s Joker in the trailer than I expected to see. It’s unclear how big of a role he’ll have. Will he be in the film during real time or just appear in Harley Quinn’s flashbacks? If there’s one thing Ayer knows how to do, it’s how to make a gritty action film. It looks like Suicide Squad will live up to that and more.

The star studded cast includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Aabgaje, Jared Leto, Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach, Scott Eastwood, and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

The trailer also puts Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody to good use.

Suicide Squad opens August 5, 2016.
