Idris Elba may never get his shot at playing James Bond, but he gets to show off what he’s got in the action thriller, Bastille Day.

Directed by James Watkins(The Woman in Black), Bastille Day is about a young con artist, played by Richard Madden (Game of Thrones, Cinderella) and a former CIA agent (Elba) who attempt to stop a terrorist attack in France on Bastille Day.

Elba’s character looks gritty and tough. He’s sort of Luther adjacent, and that’s a good thing. Bastille Day opens this summer. Check out the trailer below.
